Way, way up there in the sky hangs a star
A star shining bright, brighter than the rest
It looks so far
Yet it brightens up the night with a twinkle

Millions of years have come and gone
As the Earth was shaped and reborn
You have always been there and shone
Lighting the night where there was none before

Through the ages you watched
Guided many through time
Granted wishes to others
Inspired hope where hope was needed

Kings and Queens have knelt before you
Gods look to you for warmth
A beacon in the night sky
Lighting up the faces of children

Many will come
More will follow that distant light
A light of hope far off in the distance shining down, on you
With a twinkle, for a smile
