Through cool mists
Across calm waters
Into the dark and under a waterfall
I venture to see what may be there
Under a sheet of pure water
To wash away the past
Or to wake up to the future
One or the other, maybe both
Is there a world behind for me to find?
Something new to see
Maybe something old
Something once lost and needing to be found once more
It’s a tall mountain to look up too
As the water pounds down on my soul
It’s tears cleansing the wounds left behind
Softening the future with it’s ice cold fingers
Through the mists of confusion I walk
Looking for the waterfall of life
To wash and bathe
To cleanse what can’t be washed away, only buried
