Darkness covers the sky above
Even in the light of day
Shadows creep across the land
Bringing gloom all around

The color of life fades away
Swallowed by the darkness
Hidden from sight
Snatching hope from beckoning fingers

Rolling thunder descends upon the earth
As hell rises to the clouds
Clashing against the silence
And time stands still

Black mist fills the air
The lungs of all
Stealing any warmth they still have
So shadows can fall across those souls left behind

One spot in the sky remains
A crack where light seeps in
The sliver of hope
To bring back color to the light of day
