The Promised Land ©©

Way down the road
Hand in hand
Grabbing that sunset by the tail
Going to find that promised land

Walking across concrete gardens
Through rivers and sewers
Past pictures of trees painted on the wall
Going to find that promised land

Over dusty roads is where I go
To walk down to tomorrow
To a place I don’t know
Going to find, that promised land

Away from the plastic gardens
Tended by barren souls
Across flooded valleys and over the hill, to tomorrow
Going to find that promised land

Past the plastic faces
Dirty streets
The molded places
Going to find that promised land

No more burning rain
Stale air or crying eyes
No more
Going to find that promised land

Tomorrow I’ll be walking down that road
Step by step chasing a sunset
To ride that tail over the hill, to tomorrow
Going to find that promised land

I sure hope you find it Walker. Don't we all want to dwell in the promised land?
