Where's It Raining Tonight? ©©

In the dead of night, under an open sky
All alone with only you on my mind
Staring out to a future, a future that can never exist again
Yet I’m still standing here, all by myself
With just the wind, blowing through my hair

The stars stare down as before
Looking for what is now gone
Searching for what can never be
A future that was expected
But never promised

It’s sunny all over the world
But it’s raining here tonight

Life that was
A future that was going to be
Gone in the blink of an eye
Now I stand here all alone once more
Wondering, where has it all gone

The laughter and the smiles
The silent moments
Where words were not needed
Just a look
All that remain are the tears

It’s sunny all over the world
But it’s raining here tonight

Like the limp smoke held by my lips
I hold onto this existence so casually
Like a cage lobo I walk around looking at the horizon
The far off hills and mountains
Freedom

The smoke drifts off free to soar
While the dieing embers lay at me feet
I watch it curl away towards the clouds
Stepping in the ashes as I walk away
Up toward the sky

It’s sunny all over the world
But it’s raining here tonight

Each step a puddle filled with memories
Every puddle a shattered mirror
The ripples, cracks across my soul
Blocking the suns rays
Leaving me in the dark once more

All that’s left is the smoke
And the road ahead
To travel uphill, following that drifting smoke
While the grass grows green behind me
Where I once had been

It’s sunny all over the world
But it’s raining here tonight
