The Lone Road ©©

In the light of day or the dark of night
Dancing in the mist or fog of any day
In the rain or sunshine
It’s not the same when you’re gone

On crowded streets or empty lots
Along the beach or through the surf
Into the ocean or swimming in the darkest shadows
It’s not the same when you’re all alone

On a park bench or laying on the grass
Rolling in the hay or the mud
Laughing for nothing or maybe something
It’s hollow when there is only one

On the mountains or in the jungle
Across lush meadows or barren deserts
To the unknown and the unforgiving
It’s on a road to nowhere without a shadow by your side

In the darkness or light
Into the unknown and unseen
To nowhere and everywhere
It doesn’t exist when there is no one

Up to the sky and above or into my heart and soul
To travel or live for the day
To seek or find the one and only
You can’t find yourself alone
