Lines In The Dust ©©

It’s time to go
Down that winding road
With its sharp corners
Steep cliffs and endless skies

Through the puddles from the sky
Across the scorched ground
Over fallen trees and thirsty rivers
Following any path I find

Chasing that star in the sky
Hiding behind every cloud
Until the sun runs away and night
Night comes my way

Down that freeway of life
Walking all day and into the night
Searching for something I seek
Something bitter and sweet

From where I was
To where I want to be I go
How far I don’t know
Or the way to go

Down that road to no where yet somewhere
To places unknown
To dreams unseen in the light of day
Or sleepless nights

Awakened to my senses
Reconnected to my needs
Wants and desires
Life for a dark soul

It’s time to go
Down that road
To embrace what was lost
So long, long ago

Wait a minute, that was positive. I think that was positive. I see hope here. Nicely done.
