Moon On A Stick ©©

On this corner
Looking up at the sky
Watching the smoke curl around stars
Surrounding the moon in a transparent veil of mystery

I watch the heavens
I watch as the gray cloud drifts
Drifts with a gentle wind
Across virgin skies

Stepping around the moon
I whisper another rush of blue smoke
Pushing the veil farther away
Deeper into the darkness

Standing on the edge of the shadows
It mocks me from the darkness
Daring me to sell another bit of my soul
To blow a little more smoke to the sky

One more step into the puddle of darkness
One more puff to the shadows
Another breathe to exhale
Until everything is all blown away

Only the moon is left
Hanging on its metal pedestal
Beaming down on the ripples left behind
Until it all fades to black

WOW. I love this one. Especially the line 'watching the smoke curl around stars'. I can see it.

Your so talented. Have you ever published your stuff? If not you should.
