Is it safe to go outside
I have been locked away inside for so long
Left to live with myself
Forced to look within

Fear bound our bodies
Threatened our freedom
The rules imprisoned us from all we were used to
Punished us for our own good

Do you know what went wrong
How did all this happen
So many people viciously attacked
The dead, the walking dead

Were we betrayed
By who
Was it them
Was it us

Is the cure enough
Is it all we need or is it just for now
How did we succumb to such indignities
And all that’s still to come

I am alone in my thoughts
A wounded soul
Shattered by time and all that’s been
Left wandering all alone, surrounded by ghosts
