Years pass by like the clouds in the sky
Leaving no trails to follow
No footprints in the dirt to touch
No paths to times past, none to the future
As the days go by, I have never wavered in my thoughts of you
The times I held you both, engulfed my soul
Life was sweet, until a wind blew
Turning the page, bringing in a new chapter
The footprints in time disappeared
Like the snow in the spring
Leaving only the stain to mark the spot
But not to return with the fresh snow in the late fall
The spot is now hidden but I know the stain is there
Waiting to be revealed in the spring with the blossoms
The cycle repeats itself as the clouds cross the skies
One day the sun may shine and the clouds will disappear
