No Exit ©©

For hours I sit and wander through the channels of my mind
A map of my life lays spread across my memories
Each marking a path I have traveled from oblivion to oblivion
Looking for a way out of a room with no way out

Whirling through the past
Dancing around the present
Stumbling to tomorrow
Sailing away to somewhere far yet nowhere

Rocky roads line the way
Some round and smooth
Others sharp and cruel
Cutting to the bone

There is no use complaining
These are roads well travelled by many
It's how sharp stone become smooth
For others to follow

Going back is only an option for the desperate
Though shorter it's farther than the end
The end is where the start is
The start is always the end in a room with no exit
